Travel Situation Update (Official Statement from Thai Government)



The messages Thai Government would like to convey to all the tourists who are in Thailand or planning to visit the Kingdom.

A STATEMENT FROM THE TOURISM AUTHORITY OF THAILAND

  • On Wednesday, 22 December 2010, the Royal Thai Government ended the Emergency Decree that has been in effect for Bangkok and surrounding provinces since the May 2010 political protests. The government ended the decree as the political situation in Thailand is stable and normal.

Bus:

  • All other bus services in Thailand are operating as usual.

Air/ Airport:

  • Air traffic: Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia still in their usual operations for the route between Thailand and Cambodia amid the ongoing cross-border flighting.

Attraction

  • Visitors to avoid swimming in the sea where jellyfish are present. October to May is the season for jellyfish. Visitors are advised to avoid swimming in the sea in areas where jellyfish have been spotted. Please also avoid affected areas where local authorities have posted signs warning of the presence of jellyfish.
  • The rest through out Thailand are open as usual.
